Sifu Paul Bright

Sifu Paul is a Founding Member of Chesapeake Jeet Kune Do. He started his Jeet Kune Do journey in 2019 under Sifu Rob Doggett. Paul was in fact Rob's first student in the Chesapeake, VA school. Since then, Paul has had the chance to train under numerous instructors and coaches including Sifu Mick Thornton, Sifu Kevin Beale, BKFC Legend Reggie Barnett Jr., and numerous others. Paul is certified as Full Instructor under Sifu Rob and an Apprentice Instructor under Sifu Mick Thornton. Paul continues to train and teach JKD in Virginia.
Sifu Sonny Bigner
Full Instructor, Mississippi
Sifu Sonny has an extensive background in multiple systems of martial arts, but started his JKD journey with Sifu Rob in 2021 through the JKD Process, but has also trained with Sifu Rob in person. Sonny specializes in fighter coaching and training. He has sponsored and coached numerous MMA and kickboxing competitors and continues to do so. Sonny's school is located in McComb, MS. Sifu Alex Sayegh
Apprentice Instructor, Massachusetts
Extremely knowledgeable, Sifu Alex has studied Jeet Kune Do for a number of years before finding the JKD Process. He started with the JKD Process in 2020 and has continued since that time. Sifu Alex fills in for Sifu Rob and runs some of the online live classes. Alex is a certified Apprentice Instructor under Sifu Rob and continues to train and teach in Massachusetts. In addition to JKD, Alex specializes in Kali and various Filipino weapons systems. He is truly a Professor when it comes to teaching and analyzing the martial arts.
Kane Cartwright
Senior 2nd Trainer, Virginia
Kane is a Founding Member of Chesapeake Jeet Kune Do having started his JKD journey in 2019. Kane specializes in JKD defense, trapping, and footwork. He fills in for Sifu Rob teaching in-person classes. Kane has had the chance to train under numerous instructors and coaches including Sifu Mick Thornton, Sifu Kevin Beale, Applied Wing Chun Sifu Larry Saccoia, and numerous others. Kane is a certified Senior 2nd Trainer under Sifu Rob and is well on his way to Full Instructorship.
Anthony De Spain
Senior 2nd Trainer, Wisconsin
Tony is the co-owner of Five Point Defensive Arts in Sheboygan, WI, the friendliest place on earth (literally). He teaches a number of martial arts to both kids and adults. He started his JKD journey with Sifu Rob in 2022 and has earned the rank of Senior 2nd Trainer and authorized to teach JKD. Tony is well on his way to Full Instructorship. Scott Troutman
Senior 2nd Trainer, Alaska
Scott is a powerhouse in his training, sparring, and teaching. He started his JKD journey with Sifu Rob in 2020 and has studied numerous other martial arts including Muay Thai, Shaolin Kung Fu, and Wrestling among others. Scott also specializes in yoga and personal training. Scott is certified as a Senior 2nd Trainer under Sifu Rob and sometimes teaches our online classes when Sifu Rob is unavailable.
Braden Dawe
Senior 2nd Trainer, Virginia
Braden's work ethic is contagious! He consistently trains at home between classes and has developed an extremely powerful version of JKD. Specifically, his focus on economy of motion has allowed him to develop extreme power in his kicks. He can still punch you in the face as he conditions his body for both offense and defense. Braden started his JKD journey with Sifu Rob in 2022. Braden is certified as a Senior 2nd Trainer under Sifu Rob.
Pedro Nazario
Senior 3rd, New York
Having started with the JKD Process in 2022, Pedro hasn't missed an online live class and has been consistent with his training. He has a background in boxing, but added Jeet Kune Do to become a well rounded fighter and martial artist. Pedro (left in the photo) has trained with Sifu Adam Prato (right in the photo) and the Wing Chun Brotherhood in NY. Pedro is certified as a Senior 3rd in Jeet Kune Do under Sifu Rob.
Benjamin Joseph
Senior 2nd, Maryland
Ben started learning Jeet Kune Do in his teenage years before COVID and continued his online training since then. He consistently shows up for online classes and trains on his own. He's always looking for training partners in his area and has really embodied the philosophy of Jeet Kune Do. By reading and studying the writings of Bruce Lee, Ben uses JKD to improve upon himself as a martial artist and a human being. Ben is also a Senior 1st Trainer and well on his way to full certification.
Michael Davis

Michael is a Founding Member of Chesapeake Jeet Kune Do. Michael started his JKD journey in 2019 and focused specifically on close quarters combat. A veteran with a ton of experience in personal training, Michael blends his natural abilities with his martial training in the development of a dynamic expression of Jeet Kune Do. Michael is a certified Senior 1st Trainer under Sifu Rob.
Lamonte Woodard
Senior 1st Trainer, Virginia
Lamonte actually started his JKD journey in 2020 online with the JKD Process during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. It seemed to be the perfect fit because Lamonte was also able to come to local classes in-person when the pandemic was over. He was one of the first who was able to train both exclusively online and then in-person. Lamonte is certified as a Senior 1st Trainer under Sifu Rob.
Emanuele Puggioni
1st Rank, Australia
While Emanuele earned his 1st Rank with the JKD Process, he is much higher than a 1st Rank in Jeet Kune Do. He has been a practitioner for many years in his homeland (Italy) and recently moved to Australia to continue his studies. He plans to complete his instructorship and return to Italy to teach the original art and science of Jeet Kune Do.
Tyler Reed
1st Rank, Wisconsin
Tyler began his JKD journey in 2025 and actually his sign up coincided with Sifu Rob's seminar in Wisconsin. Tyler made the trek to Sheboygan, WI and trained 2 days with Sifu Rob and even stayed at his AirBnB and continued to train! (Story for another day) Tyler has a background in boxing and combat sports with natural power and athleticism. Tyler has been able to blend in the principles and concepts from JKD to add efficiency and impact to his straight lead punch and other techniques. Tyler is certified at Level 1 so far in Jeet Kune Do under Sifu Rob.
Matthew Hoff
1st Rank, Georgia
Matt is an accomplished martial artist with a black belt already in Karate. He found expression in Bruce Lee's art of Jeet Kune Do and has been consistent with his training. He earned his 1st Rank and well on his way to further achievement within the art, science, and philosophy of Jeet Kune Do.
